Remote access is not needed for:
- Workday@Penn
- BEN Financials
- Concur
- O365, Outlook email, or Outlook webmail
- PennBox
- Teams and Zoom
- PennFlex Phone
Remote access is only required to access network drives and folders, PARS (Comptroller), OnBase (ORS), Kofax Applications (Disbursements), EP4 (SRFS), Salesforce (SRFS), Pennant/Banner (SRFS student systems), PennRec Transcripts (OUR), and FNIS (Payroll / Tax).
VPN refers to "Virtual Private Network" and creates the same network access experience as if you were using your computer at the office. Your computer becomes directly connected to the Finance network, allowing you the ability to see and access your network drives and folders.

The Division of Finance does not permit network connections using personal home computing devices or connections that utilize Windows Remote Desktop Protocol (RDP). You must be using a Division of Finance issued computer to access the DoF VPN. VPN connections must originate from within the Continental United States. Contact ITS if you are traveling internationally and will require access to Division of Finance network resources.
