UPenn staff can now enroll in a service to reset their forgotten PennKey password themselves by using the self-service PennKey password reset tool (SSPR). 


Please note you must enroll in this service with a valid PennKey and password prior to forgetting your password to use the tool, if you forget your password in the future.


To enroll in the password reset tool, staff must register a personal email address and cellphone number into their user profile. Please see the instructions below:


What do you need? (both are required)

  1. A personal non-Penn email address (e.g., gmail, yahoo)
  2. A cell phone number


Enrollment Instructions:


Before using the self-service PennKey password reset tool (SSPR), you must update your profile by registering your personal email address and cell phone number.


Log-in:  https://accounts.pennkey.upenn.edu/pwm/private/updateprofile


Log in with your PennKey and password:




Update your Profile:

 

Register your cell phone and personal email address by typing them into the appropriate fields. Select continue.





Confirm your profile data:

 

Verify that your cell phone number and personal email address are correct and select confirm. After confirming, a code will be sent to your cell phone and personal email address.





Cell phone verification:

 

Enter the six-digit code sent to your cell phone. Select continue.




You will receive a confirmation message that your cell phone number has been verified. Select Continue.





Personal email verification:

 

Enter the six-digit code sent to your personal email. Select continue.





You will receive a confirmation message that your personal email has been verified. Select Continue.




Success screen

 

A confirmation message will appear that your PennKey self-service user information has been updated. Select Continue.
